apc is a to-the-point fashion label. not quite utility, but definitely user-friendly, it's a range that favours classic french simplicity and long-time desirability over seasonal ins and outs. jean touitou launched his 'atelier de production et de creation' (apc) line 36 years later in 1987. a graduate of history and linguistics from the sorbonne in paris, he never intended to work as a designer, becoming involved with kenzo purely by chance in the late 1970s, later spending three years at agnes b. but today jean touitou has found a recipe for fashion success and it involves olive oil. and a record label, and film and whatever else he feels like picking and choosing and working with that seems right at the time. touitou is particularly skilled at collaboration and apc has been associated with many unexpected creation projects; in 1995 he launched a record label which has seen the likes of sofia coppola and marc jacobs make their musical debuts; in 2001, touitou sponsored zoe cassavetes in a dvd-released film. martin margiela, anna sui and martine sitbon have all featured in the apc mail order catalogue (set up in 1993) as guest designer, while prints from eley kishimoto and jessica ogden's customisation skills have been used to give new life to old stock. apc's clothing for men and women is sold alongside music, aftershave, scented candles (and apc branded olive oil) at touitou's shops . . .

>> trendy와는 거리가 먼 grunge look을 꾸준히 추구하고 있는 내가 fashion에 대해 이야기할 수 있는 입장은 아니지만 , '파히졩'까지는 아니더라도 최소한 유행 꼴지 수준을 유지하기 위해 4년 전부터 꾸준히 찾고 있는 퐝스 브랜드 a.p.c. (혹시 에이.피.씨.로 읽고싶은 충동을 느꼈다면 잠깐 진정하고 , 아페쎄라고 발음해보자)
a.p.c.의 가장 큰 장점이라면 평범한 듯 보이지만 다른 - 문법을 무시하고 조금 과장된 표현을 사용해보자면 이쁘게 평범한 - 스타일을 추구할 수 있다는 것이다. 가격은 예상외로 적당 (jean: € 110 , jacket:€ 300 , dress: € 120-280) 하나 , 국내 유통구조상의 문제로 갤러리아 west에서는 다소 비싼 가격에 - 게다가 전 품목이 아닌 일부 품목이 소량으로 입고되는 현실을 감안하고 - 구입해야만 한다. 머 , tokyo naka-meguro의 아울렛 매장에서 사는게 아니므로 그냥 꾹 참고 구입할 수밖에 . .
